Carers Advice

Some carers prefer to analyse their own problems and attempt to resolve them. This is important for many carers as they retain their own independence. Carers who prefer to do this might like to visit the Family Carer's Toolkit in the Information Centre.

In reality, caring can absorb so much of your time that helpful advice from a third party is often welcome. You are able to access the same sources of advice as any other citizen. Examples are the Citizen's Advice Bureau, carers' websites and the Disability Law Service, but there are many more and it is often best to go to a place that specialises in the subject you are interested in.
