18th April, 2010

Andy Minter ran in the Brighton Marathon and gained sponsorship for his run.  Over £400.00 was raised for Andover and District Mencap.    Well done and many thanks, Andy.  We really appreciate your efforts for members.

A Dog Show was held with proceeds going to Andover Mencap. This event took place in Collingbourne Ducis and raised over £900.00.  This was a great result and many thanks go to the organisers for all their hard work.  This was a great result.  Much of the money will go towards our building project.

24th April, 2010

A jumble sale was held at the Bonhomie Centre to raise funds. Pennies and pounds all add up and the result was a very creditable £150.00 raised for the charity.  Thanks again go to all the helpers and all those who came. 

Looking ahead ...

18th July, 2010

'Grease' is the word on the street for Andover Mencap and the carnival.  Preparations are already in hand for a carnival float and it's going to be 'Go greased lightning' all the way.  So book the date in your diary and get ready to support the Carnival this year - and especially to support Andover Mencap.  Don't forget to take plenty of small change with you - but keep your big donations for Andover and District Mencap!

Concert at The Lights, Andover - 24th July, 2010

"See the Light with Vocal Point"

This will be a lively mix of the sublime and the ridiculous!

The Choir was formed in 1999 and is a versatile concert ensemble of 14 skilled and enthusiastic singers who enjoy exploring a wide variety of musical styles.

Tickets priced at £10.00 (concessions £9.00) are now on sale for this important event.  Buy your tickets direct from The Lights or call in at Waterstones or the Bonhomie Centre.  Choir music ranging from Madrigals to Pop.

Mencap Mile Sponsored Swim

Nessi, Sarah, Shirley from the Andover Mencap office staff are taking part in this event - swimming a mile in a cold lake!  (Brrrrrrr!)  They need your support.  Sponsor forms at the Andover Mencap office.

The Mayor's Golf Day at Leckford Golf Course

... followed by a lunch and prizegiving at The Grosvenor Hotel, Stockbridge.  All golfers - book this date in your diary now!

Application forms are available from our office.  All applications have to be made by 15th July, 2010.  The programme includes Coffee and Rolls from 07.30 a.m. 18 holes Team Stableford Competition, Lunch and Prizegiving.
