Respite Care

Stephen's Ark provides a programme of children's respite care to support local families in warm, friendly and homely surroundings. It is registered with OFSTED as a children's home to care for 5 children on a day care basis and up to 4 children overnight.

Through respite support, parents are given the opportunity to have a break from caring whilst at the same time their children have the chance to enjoy their respite stay in a small group with other children and develop their self help and social skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Currently, Stephen's Ark is open for up to 2 -3 weekends a month for overnight respite and day care, as well 2 days a week during most school holidays for day care.

Most of the support is arranged by Hampshire County Council and Wiltshire County Council; however there is scope to purchase support direct using Direct Payments.
