Support in the Community

Support in the CommunityOur Support Worker Service provides professional committed carers to people with learning disabilities to assist them in accessing the community. Sometimes parents and family carers have difficulty in supporting their sons or daughters and sometimes people have no family. The type of support we provide is dependent on the member’s needs and can be anything from a few hours a week to go out (for example for shopping or a visit to the GP) to one visit a month.

We also provide comprehensive support to clients living with carers. This support at home includes personal care and respite care.

Support is mainly funded through Direct Payments but we also provide care under Social Services and Supporting People contracts.

For more information, please contact the Support Worker Service Operational Manager, Deb Crook. Call her on 01264 321840 or to e-mail her click here.
