Andover & District Mencap
- New Resource Centre -
Our History
Andover and District Mencap is a local Charity supporting adults and children with learning disabilities and their families/carers. Andover & District Mencap was established over 40 years ago and since then we have been working in the community to help people with learning disabilities to live as independently a life as possible in the community.
We want to develop our services, enabling even more people with learning disabilities to benefit. Our present home, the Bonhomie Centre in South End Road is no longer suitable for our needs. It’s time for a change.
Our Vision
Andover & District Mencap are building a new Community Resource Centre, on the site of the old Wellington Pub on the Winchester Road, Andover.
The Resource Centre will provide a focal point for Andover & District Mencap allowing us to offer a wide range of social, leisure, educational and vocational opportunities and activities for people with learning disabilities together with the wider community.
We aim to …..
- Be in the heart of the local neighbourhood
- Provide inclusive opportunities for people with a learning disability
- Forge links with the local voluntary sector and the wider community.
The Next Step
We cannot do this alone, we need help from many different sources to fulfil our vision for Andover & District Mencap and the new resource centre.
